ANCYL Gauteng Roundtable Strengthens Dialogue Between Current and Former Leaders

Johannesburg — The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) hosted a strategic roundtable at Emoyeni Estate in Parktown, bringing together current and former provincial and regional office bearers to reflect on the organisation’s role in addressing social and political challenges in Gauteng.

The engagement was led by Cde Jacob Tau, a member of the ANCYL National Executive Committee (NEC) and convenor of deployees to Gauteng. In his address, Tau emphasized the importance of unity, continuity, and institutional memory within the Youth League as it works to strengthen its presence in communities across the province.

The session provided a platform to discuss the pressing challenges facing young people and local communities, including unemployment, education, and civic participation. Delegates reflected on how the Youth League can play a more active role in mobilising solutions and contributing to social change.

Organisers described the roundtable as a vital step in bridging the gap between current and former leaders, ensuring that lessons from past leadership experiences inform the League’s future direction.

The ANCYL reaffirmed its commitment to revitalising youth activism and deepening its engagement with broader society in line with the League’s founding principles.
