Gauteng CoGTA Presents 2024/25 Performance Report to Portfolio Committee

The Gauteng Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) presented its annual performance report for the 2024/25 financial year to the CoGTA Portfolio Committee at Gold Reef City, highlighting achievements, challenges, and ongoing initiatives.

The session included briefings from the Gauteng Office of the Auditor-General, which provided an independent review of departmental performance, financial management, and compliance with governance standards. Stakeholders posed questions and highlighted priority areas, enabling CoGTA officials to clarify processes and outline plans for improved service delivery.

MEC Jacob Mamabolo, alongside Dr. Darion J. Barclay, engaged with committee members to demonstrate how the department has contributed to Gauteng’s broader development goals, particularly under the Growing Gauteng Together framework. Key topics included municipal support services, capacity-building programmes, and strategies to strengthen governance at local government level.

Mamabolo emphasised that the engagement reflects the province’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsive governance, ensuring that citizens benefit directly from departmental programmes and interventions.
