Gauteng’s WK du Plessis Primary School Nears Completion as Oversight Visit Confirms Steady Progress

SPRINGS – Gauteng MEC for Transport and Logistics, Jacob Mamabolo, has confirmed that construction at WK du Plessis Primary School in Geduld, Springs, is now 90% complete, with only minor snags and finishing work remaining.

During an oversight visit with his technical team — known as the A-Team — Mamabolo outlined the project’s current focus areas, which include snagging in Blocks G1–G4, final plumbing and electrical corrections, installation of drinking fountains, cleaning of the Grade R block, and ongoing earthworks.

The visit forms part of the Gauteng Department’s broader infrastructure monitoring programme aimed at ensuring that all projects meet quality, safety, and delivery standards under the Growing Gauteng Together 2030 framework.

Mamabolo said he was encouraged by the progress made so far, noting that the final stages of work are critical for ensuring readiness for handover. “We are in the final stretch,” he said. “Our team is focused on ensuring that every classroom, pipe, and fixture meets the highest standards before completion.”

The WK du Plessis Primary School project is part of Gauteng’s continued investment in social infrastructure, supporting access to quality education and creating local employment opportunities during construction.
