Mashatile Attends Final Day of ANC NEC Meeting as Party Pushes Renewal Agenda

Deputy President Paul Mashatile joined senior leaders in Germiston this morning for the final session of the ANC’s Ordinary National Executive Committee meeting. The gathering, held at the Germiston Council Chambers, forms part of the party’s scheduled NEC sitting running from 14 to 16 November, confirmed in the ANC’s official notice of the meeting published on its website.

The NEC met to review the organisation’s progress on its renewal programme, a long-running effort to rebuild internal discipline, strengthen structures, and respond to public expectations. According to the ANC’s statement on the meeting for this period, discussions centred on organisational renewal, the party’s National Dialogue process, and planning for the 2025 National General Council.

This focus reflects earlier commitments made by the NEC in August, when the ANC stressed the need for deeper political education and ideological grounding. At that time, the party’s leadership outlined a compulsory Foundation Course for members as part of its broader renewal work.

In Gauteng, renewal has already taken a concrete form. The NEC recently moved to reconfigure provincial structures to improve internal stability and ensure readiness for the 2026 Local Government Elections. The ANC described this step as necessary to strengthen organisational capacity ahead of the next phase of its electoral programme.

Mashatile’s presence at the Germiston session underlines the leadership’s effort to bring unity to the renewal drive. As the NEC concludes its work, the party frames the process as essential to restoring coherence and meeting the expectations of its supporters and the wider public.
