Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi shared that the province will host a major Liv Golf event after a new partnership was announced between South African Breweries and the Liv Golf League. He confirmed the news on his official profile on X.
The announcement took place in Johannesburg with the support of the Gauteng Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation MEC Matome Chiloane, who updated the public through the Gauteng SACR page. The national Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture Gayton McKenzie also attended and later posted the details on his official account.
South African Breweries released the partnership through the company site at SAB and confirmed that Castle Lite will lead the local program. The Liv Golf League added further information on its official platform at Liv Golf and noted that Gauteng will be one of the main hosts on the continental schedule.
Tourism officials expect the tournament to bring visitors from South Africa and abroad. They believe the event will help Gauteng strengthen its position as a leading destination for major sport and entertainment. The province already hosts high-profile rugby, cricket, and athletics events, and the new tournament is expected to increase its international reach.
Premier Lesufi said the partnership shows Gauteng’s ability to attract global events and will support jobs and local economic activity.
