Eskom says its technicians are still working to restore power to several parts of Gauteng after heavy storms caused a spike in faults across the province. The utility reported ongoing challenges in areas around Fourways, while supply has been restored in parts of Soweto.
In Broadacres, Chartwell, Lonehill, Nietgedacht, and Paulshof, technicians remain on-site after a brief restoration was interrupted when breakers tripped again. Eskom says teams are working to trace the fault and stabilise supply, but the weather-related damage has made the process slower than usual.
Earlier, the utility confirmed that electricity had been restored in Braamfischer, Dobsonville Gardens, Doornkop, and Protea Glen Extensions 3 and 4. Eskom thanked residents for their patience as crews worked through difficult conditions.
The utility also warned that the recent storm has led to elevated fault levels across its Gauteng supply areas. It said response times may be affected as teams deal with multiple weather-related incidents. Eskom urged customers to report outages and treat all electrical infrastructure as live for safety reasons.
